Pinhole photography workshop

Overview

Explore the Kielder landscape in a fun and unusual way with artist Judy Thomas through a combined walk and pinhole photography workshop.

Pinhole photography is an old but exciting technique that uses simple, handmade cameras from everyday items such as cardboard boxes or drum containers. During this workshop participants will make their own pinhole cameras before going on a short walk to capture strange, unique and ghostly images of the Kielder landscape.

“Embracing chance, the images created will reveal Kielder in strange, unique and poetic ways.” Judy Thomas.

Back in the darkroom at Tower Knowe, participants will develop their images. Participants will keep their original photographs as well as scanned jpegs.

Cost: £15 per person.

Participant requirements: All materials and equipment will be provided but please bring sturdy footwear and waterproof clothing for the walk.

Children are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult.
