Kielder Water & Forest Park - updated 28th September 2021
We here at Kielder Water & Forest Park are delighted to be welcoming back visitors, and remain following current government guidelines in the four-step roadmap here.
We are so glad to see visitors once again connect with our fabulous outdoors landscapes, breathe fresh air and marvel at the darkest skies in the country! We hope that we satisfy your desire for space, escapism, adventurous activity, pure enjoyment and improved wellbeing.
All accommodation and activities have adopted the national 'We're Good to Go' scheme, which means that they are following all guidance, are COVID-secure and are ready for your return. Some businesses now have specific pre-booking requirements and COVID regulations in place, so please come prepared and know before you go. You can do this by checking the individual businesses' website for their latest updates before you visit them.
All of our walking and cycling routes, bike hire, car parks and public toilets are open.
Tower Knowe shop and Wafflemeister are open; the exhibition is currently closed.
Kielder Waterside lodges are all open, and many guests activities are operating. The shop is open, and Forest Bar & Kitchen serving food and drinks indoors for guests. The Oasis room within the Forest Bar & Kitchen is now serving food and drinks on a Thursday and Saturday night for day visitors as well as lodge guests. Kielder Castle is closed for ground floor renovation work; there is mobile catering facility in front of the Castle called The Sea Diner. It’s open Wednesday – Sunday every week from 10am – 4pm. Open until 8pm on Friday for Fishy Friday! During school holidays they will be open every day.
