Cycling in Kielder Water & Forest Park

An extensive network of off-road tracks just perfect for family cycling holidays or days out awaits you. The range of routes in Kielder Water & Forest Park suit all abilities – test yourself at our skills area before you set off and you’ll discover which trails are right for you.

Discover twenty two pieces of outdoor public art along the route.

And thanks to the Lakeside Way, a multi-user trail that follows the 27 mile Kielder Water shoreline, you can have a unique new cycling experience.

For the first time there is access to many of the most scenic parts of the lake shore, new views and the opportunity to interact with some of the abundant wildlife. The multi-user track is suitable for walkers, cyclists, horse riders and wheelchair users.

Due to the busy Kielder Marathon weekend of activities, the Lakeside Way will not be open for general use on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 October 2010. It will re-open on Monday 18 October 2010 and we apologies for any inconveniece caused. For more information on the exciting events and activities in the Park that weekend, please click here.

Bike hire is available on site from Purple Mountain and The Bike Place Kielder.

Please note the popular Hindhope Linn viewpoint is at the north end of the Forest Drive toll road, 12 miles from Kielder Castle.

Follow the forest cycle code and please respect other visitors and wildlife.
