Happy Easter! Easter is always a nice time to be here, with spring flowers and some fun themed activities at Kielder Waterside - check with them for details.
And even though Easter is quite early . . . the ospreys are back!
You can often see them flying around the forest or above the water or come to the Osprey Cabin at Tower Knowe Visitor Centre on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays (11-4) from the 4th of April (Easter Saturday) to find out more from Northumberland Wildlife Trust's amazing volunteers.
Osprey cruises, with our partner Wild Intrigue, start in May but you can book now here.
Now in its 11th year (and 10th edition) the Panaracer Dirty Reiver - THE gravel event in the calendar - returns to Kielder on the 24th–26th April.
The event sells out quickly, but with 2000 competitors, it’s a fantastic spectacle and there is an event village with food, drinks and more.
Cycling at Kielder isn’t only for event riders and it can be as challenging or sedate as you'd like! With trails to suit every level of rider, you can bring your own bike or hire one from Kielder Bike Hire/Team Cycles who have a wide selection.
Kielder Waterside has some great offers on their lovely lodges and while you’re there you can visit Kielder Bird of Prey Centre or book one of their many activities including segwaying, archery, mini golf and axe throwing.
Kielder Salmon Centre reopens on April 1st. Learn about the unique life cycle of the salmon, see fresh water pearl mussels and kids can play Find the Fossil, do a quiz and try the brass rubbing trail.
And April skies are always awesome! Look up wherever you are in the region and for something more book tickets for Kielder Observatory.
