Hello September!

Schools are back, the ospreys are heading south and autumn will soon be sweeping into Kielder.

September is often seen as a transitional month - the nights are drawing in, the days are getting shorter, and the colours are changing with a wonderful mix greens and golds.

The darker nights and the start of aurora season mean it’s a perfect time to visit Kielder Observatory.

Or if you’d like to do something on two wheels, there’s a RallyMoto Dark Skies Rally on September 20/21st or a Kielder Bike Hire Group Ride on Saturday 20th.

Kielder Birds of Prey Centre, home of more than 60 birds including owls, hawks, eagles, falcons and vultures is open daily. There are flying demonstrations at 1.30 and 3pm and you can pay at the gate, without having to book. They also offer training course and experiences.

For now we still have beautiful blue skies and warm sunshine, so make the most of the last days of summer and . . . Picture yourself here!
