Kielder’s story brought to life with new digital experience
Visitors can discover more about the area's history, wildlife and world-famous dark skies, thanks to a newly upgraded interactive exhibition at Northumbrian Water’s Tower Knowe Visitor Centre.
The exhibition includes 17 interactive touchscreens, alongside audio displays, films and information boards, designed to help visitors explore Kielder, whilst telling stories about the reservoir’s history and operation, the water cycle, nature, local walking routes and the international Dark Sky Park.
Gary Storey, General Manager at Kielder Waterside, said: "Tower Knowe is often the first stop for people visiting Kielder, so we wanted to transform the exhibition space and really help bring the area to life.
“We’re really proud of what our team has achieved, and hope visitors will enjoy discovering what makes Kielder such a special place for many years to come.”
The new exhibition is designed to provide an inspiring introduction to Kielder for the thousands of people who visit the area each year.
