For those seeking a more active holiday then the Cheviot hills and sections of the Pennine Way are nearby. Kielder Forest is a 25 min drive with its world class mountain biking, Bellingham has a 15 hole golf course and there are water sports available at Kielder Water.
Otterburn village is home to Otterburn Mill with its outdoor clothing shop and restaurant. The village has a well stocked shop and many of the local pubs serve good quality, home-cooked meals.
