Saturday 9 August & Sunday 10 August, Family Sculpture weekend with artist Elaine Porter, 10am-4pm, Leaplish.


About the artist: Elaine Porter is a visual artist working across Northumberland and the North East. Elaine works in willow and specialises in making large lantern and structures for carnivals and parades and as temporary sculpture. She has extensive experience of delivering high quality community arts projects with a wide range of different community groups. She has experience of working with all ages and levels of creative ability and works hard to ensure participants enjoy an excellent experience and achieve high standards of work. Time: Drop in throughout the day from 11am

About the workshop sessions:  Elaine will work with participants and family groups to create a magnificent large-scale sculpture of leaping Salmon on the banks of Leaplish Waterside. Working with willow, participants will help to build a beautiful woven fish to leave behind as a temporary sculpture, as well as their own fish sun catchers to take home and keep.
