Overview
Join us for a day of hands on activities including:
- go on a guided walk with Martin Davison, a local expert, to find out more about ospreys and see our new osprey nesting platform at 2pm (book below)
- see bird ringing of local birds and see who is visiting our bird hide
- join Bruce Ferguson for 'an osprey's tale' which is an interactive story of a day in the life of an osprey at 11am and 1.30pm (book below)
- keep your eyes peeled for the first bird returning from Africa with our telescopes on Kielder viaduct
- get hands on with some arts and crafts and make your own wooden osprey to take home
- treat yourself to tea and cake in the cafe and watch the monitor on the nest
- have a go at a self-guided trail
- meet the birds from Kielder Bird of Prey Centre
- sail on an osprey motor boat cruise at 1pm and 2pm (call 01434 250 232 to book, £10 per person)
The event is free to attend, though a small charge will be made to cover the cost of some activities. Donations are gratefully received.
This is an outdoor event so please dress appropriately. Due to the close contact with many different birds, we ask that you do not bring dogs.
All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Free entry and donations welcome but some charges will apply to some craft activities. £10 per person for the motor boat cruises, times for the cruises are 1pm and 2pm. It is advisable to book your place for the Guided Tour, Motor Cruise, well as the interactive storytelling due to limited availability.
