Bird box building and guided walk

Overview

Support Redesdale’s small birds by helping to make and install bird boxes for tits and flycatchers at Rupert’s Wood. You can even make a box to take home! Nest boxes imitate holes and cavities that many birds use for nesting and roosting. They can help to compensate for a shortage of natural sites. A member of Northumbria Ringing Group will lead a short guided walk to include topics such as bird song, identification, habitat and nesting requirements. Please bring suitable outdoor clothing and footwear. This event is suitable for ages 7+. All persons under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. This is a Revitalising Redesdale Landscape Partnership event, supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund. To find out more see: www.revitalisingredesdale.org.uk or phone 0191 284 6884.
