Walk - Kielder Dam to Tower Knowe Visitor Centre
Type: Walking Route
Start from the Lakeside View car park at the dam and follow the Lakeside Way along the shoreline to Tower Knowe Visitor Centre. This stretch offers stunning views of the dam and valve tower. Alternatively, the route can be started at Tower Knowe Visitor Centre. The Lakeside Way crosses the entrance road into the visitor centre. Take the section on the right and head towards the dam.
Road Directions
From Newcastle/Carlisle, A69 to B6320 Bellingham, then C200. From Jedburgh, A68 to B6320, then C200.
Please fill up your tank before you arrive as there are no petrol stations in the immediate area.
Public Transport Directions
880 runs two services Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from Hexham to Kielder Castle.
A public bus service runs from Newcastle on Sundays and Bank Holidays in the summer months.
