Leaplish Waterside Park

The three main visitor centres are first ports of call for information hungry visitors. With panoramic views of the reservoir, Northumbrian Water's Leaplish Waterside Park is the ideal base to recharge and refresh.

Its luxury four and five star self-catering lodges have won the David Bellamy Gold Award for Conservation and are fully equipped with everything you need for a short break or holiday.

The 90 pitch caravan site has a mix of lake and forest views for motor homes and touring caravans.

Unwind in the sauna or with a swim in the indoor heated pool. The Boat Inn restaurant and bar serves hot fresh food throughout the day and there is a fully licensed onsite shop.

Other facilities, which are available to both day visitors and staying guests, include a miniature golf course, children's play area, red squirrel hide, wildlife garden, pleasure boats for hire (seasonal) and the Kielder Water Birds of Prey Centre - a chance to get up close and personal with some fascinating birds such as pelicans as well as deer and wallabies.

Walkers and cyclists can join the Lakeside Way from here.

You can also board the Osprey ferry - the ideal way to see Kielder Water in comfort.
