Walking in Kielder Water & Forest Park

What better way to explore the great outdoors than on foot?

With over 600 square kilometres of forest and 27 miles of shoreline to choose from, Kielder Water & Forest Park is perfect for walking and hiking holidays or family days out.

From challenging long distance trails to more leisurely family strolls - there's a multitude of forest walks to choose from. Discover twenty pieces of outdoor public art along the route.

And for the more adventurous, click here for information on fell running and orienteering.

And thanks to the Lakeside Way, a multi-user trail that follows the 27 mile Kielder Water shoreline, you can have a unique new walking experience.

For the first time there is access to many of the most scenic parts of the lake shore, new views and the opportunity to interact with some of the abundant wildlife. The multi-user track is suitable for walkers, cyclists, horse riders and wheelchair users.

Due to the busy Kielder Marathon weekend of activities, the Lakeside Way will not be open for general use on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 October 2010. It will re-open on Monday 18 October 2010 and we apologies for any inconveniece caused. For more information on the exciting events and activities in the Park that weekend, please click here.
