There are three Whirling Beans, all made from rope. This work draws on elements of play and energy stored within the seeds and is derived from the elements - sun, rain, wind, clouds, waves and the natural rhythms and cycles that underlie them.

Road Directions

From Newcastle or Carlisle, follow the A69 to Hexham then follow the B6320 to Bellingham (brown-signed Kielder Water & Forest) and take the C200 to Kielder Water & Forest Park.

From Jedburgh/Edinburgh take the A68 south to Otterburn, then the B6320 to Bellingham and follow the brown signs to Kielder Water & Forest Park along the C200.

Leaplish is situated within Kielder Village and sign-posted from the C200.

Please remember to fill up your tank before you begin your journey as there are no petrol stations in the immediate Kielder Water & Forest Park area.

OS map ref. NY665878 Make your way to Leaplish Waterside Park on the side of Kielder Water from the C200. follow the waymarkers along The Beeches Walk. Whirling Beans are sited in two trees above the path. An easy walk but wheelchair users would need assistance with some slopes.
