Use of information

This website is published by Kielder Partnership (“we”). We are a public, voluntary and private sector collaboration working to develop Kielder Water & Forest Park as an inspirational place for leisure, exploration and fun. Partners are the Calvert Trust Kielder, Environment Agency, Forestry Commission, Northumberland County Council, Northumbrian Water, plus representation from community groups. A new partner that will join in 2009 is Northumberland Wildlife Trust.

We will not collect any information about individuals, except where it is specifically and knowingly provided by them. Examples of such information are:

Your address
Your mobile telephone number
Your email address

The information collected will be used to send you the information you have requested and to provide information that may be useful to you. This information may be available to our partners only for the purposes requested by you.

We may share non-personal aggregate statistics (group) data about our site visitors' traffic patterns with partners or other parties. However, we do not sell or share any information about individual users outside the partnership.

Users 16 and under

If you are aged 16 or under, please get your parent or guardian's permission beforehand whenever you provide personal information to this website. Users without this consent are not allowed to provide us with personal information.

Your rights

In addition to the partnership’s safeguards, your personal data is protected in the UK by the Data Protection Act. This provides amongst other things that the data we hold about you should be processed lawfully and fairly. It should be accurate, relevant and not excessive. The information should be kept up to date, where necessary, and not retained for longer than is necessary. It should be kept securely to prevent unauthorised access by other people. You have the right to see what is held about you and correct any inaccuracies. Currently there is a £10 fee payable (set by law). This will be waived if any of the information which we hold is incorrect.

Cookies

We use session cookies (which are temporary cookies) to maintain your session with the server in the areas of our site that are available to registered users. Our session cookies store a unique identifier to allow the server to distinguish between individual users' sessions. Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. We sometimes use persistent cookies to enable pop-up advertisements and to prevent the server from displaying the pop-up advertisement more than once. Persistent cookies remain on your hard disk until you delete them. No cookies on our site are served or used by third parties.
