Kielder Run-Bike-Run
The Kielder Run-Bike-Run, on Saturday 16 October 2010, is part of the first Kielder Marathon weekend of activities and offers the opportunity for teams to complete the marathon course without having to run the full distance.
The official marathon distance of 26 miles will be split into three parts: 11k run, 26k bike* ride and 5k run (distances are approximate).
Teams of three people can enter into one of the categories detailed below:
Corporate
All three team members must be employed by the same company.
Family
All three team members must be related to one another.
Open
Three competitors competing under the same team name.
The course, which follows the same route as the Kielder Marathon which is mainly off road, uses the Lakeside Way – a brand new trail that encircles the shoreline of Kielder Water, northern Europe’s largest man-made lake. To find about more about the course see the route guide.
The entry fee is £100 per team and each team member will receive an event t-shirt and medal.
The first three teams over the line in each of the three categories will win a prize. 1st prize is sports equipment to the value of £300, 2nd prize is sports equipment to the value of £180 and 3rd prize is sports equipment to the value of £120.
The event will start at 1.00pm and competitors will be required onsite at least two hours before the start of the event.
The deadline for all entries is Friday 17 September 2010 or earlier should the entry limit be reached and are available on a first come, first served basis. The minimum age for entries is 16 on race day.

*The Lakeside Way is a trail and therefore the bike needs to be a hybrid or mountain bike. Road bikes are unsuitable. Bike hire is available from The Bike Place Kielder and Purple Mountain located in Kielder. For more information go to www.visitkielder.com
