About Kielder Water & Forest Park

The spectacular Kielder Water & Forest Park in Northumberland is home to northern Europe's largest man-made lake and England's largest forest.

Here you can simply relax or choose to enjoy our events, land and water based activities, art, culture, heritage, wildlife, and star gazing. You will be looked after by our people, keen to share their knowledge and local stories.

As the UK's most beautiful marathon the aim is to ensure that traffic congestion is minimised.  As such we are working with the authorities to develop a comprehensive park and ride scheme - more details will be updated here soon.

Due to the busy Kielder Marathon weekend of activities, the Lakeside Way will not be open for general use on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 October 2010. It will re-open on Monday 18 October 2010. There is a whole host of exciting events to fill your weekend incluing the marathon itself, team races and children's events.
