Join us for a fun night under the stars at the UK’s darkest sky observatory, for an introduction to the night sky. We will start with a talk on an astronomical subject, in our purpose made classroom complete with a log burning stove. Sit in comfort with a warm tea or coffee and listen to an expert talk as we guide you through the universe and how it works. Learn about concepts such as the creation of the universe and how it may end! Night ends with a tour of the facility and a chance to look through the telescopes at some truly inspiring objects that inhabit our cosmos. Bring warm clothing. Booking Essential.

Follow the C200 road past Kielder Water towards Kielder Village. Parking at the (Skyspace signed) carpark 200m off the public road, the sculpture is a 1 mile walk up the forest road. The Observatory is a further 0.5 miles further on vehicular access is allowed to Skyspace but visitors will get a key witch are available from Kielder visitor centres, the local shop, the Anglers Arms in Kielder village and from the Calvert Trust.
Vehicular access is allowed to the Observatory for events.
From Newcastle or Carlisle, follow the A69 to Hexham then follow the B6320 to Bellingham (brown-signed Kielder Water & Forest) and take the C200 to Kielder Water & Forest Park.
From Jedburgh/Edinburgh take the A68 south to Otterburn, then the B6320 to Bellingham and follow the brown signs to Kielder Water & Forest Park along the C200.
The Observatory is situated within Kielder Forest and sign-posted from the C200.
Please remember to fill up your tank before you begin your journey as there are no petrol stations in the immediate Kielder Water & Forest Park area.
