Witness a new, international sporting event set in the breathtaking location of Kielder Water & Forest Park, Northumberland. The first Kielder Marathon, which is mainly off road, uses the Lakeside Way – a brand new trail that encircles the shoreline of Kielder Water, northern Europe’s largest man-made lake.
Registration for the inaugural Kielder Marathon is now closed. Charity places are still available. Please note, due to the busy Kielder Marathon weekend of activities, the Lakeside Way will not be open for general use on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 October 2010. It will re-open on Monday 18 October 2010 and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.
From Newcastle or Carlisle, follow the A69 to Hexham then follow the B6320 to Bellingham (brown-signed Kielder Water & Forest) and take the C200 to Kielder Water & Forest Park.
From Jedburgh/Edinburgh take the A68 south to Otterburn, then the B6320 to Bellingham and follow the brown signs to Kielder Water & Forest Park along the C200.
Leaplish Waterside Park is situated off the C200.
Please remember to fill up your tank before you begin your journey as there are no petrol stations in the immediate Kielder Water & Forest Park area.
