Animal Tracks and Signs

A fun, informal activity learning about animal tracks. Make plaster of paris moulds using the footprints of animals, followed by a short walk along the Beeches Trail to look for real live animal tracks. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Wear appropriate clothing and footwear according to the weather. Insect repellent recommended.

Road Directions

From Newcastle or Carlisle, follow the A69 to Hexham then follow the B6320 to Bellingham (brown-signed Kielder Water & Forest) and take the C200 to Kielder Water & Forest Park.

From Jedburgh/Edinburgh take the A68 south to Otterburn, then the B6320 to Bellingham and follow the brown signs to Kielder Water & Forest Park along the C200.

Leaplish Waterside Park is sign-posted from the C200.

Please remember to fill up your tank before you begin your journey as there are no petrol stations in the immediate Kielder Water & Forest Park area.
