Kielder Castle Gallery

Overview

As part of Visual Arts in Rural Communities event programme Walk-ON, artist Tim Knowles recently undertook a straight-line walk through a remote section of Kielder Forest capturing the great variety of planting, landscape and environmental conditions that are contained, but often hidden, within Kielder Forest.

This exhibition features extraordinary film recorded along the way as a continuous 8 hour long take shown in real time, mirroring the duration and progress of the walk during each day of the exhibition.

In addition to the fim, a number of large scale images are dsiplayed that have been taken from a sequence of many thousands automatically captured at 8 second intervals during the walk.

Free event, All welcome.  Refreshments provided.

Kielder Forest Walk fruns from 15th June - 28th July 2013.

This project has been developed as a collaboration between VARC and Kielder Art & Architecture with the support and help of the forestry Commision.
