"Come to the award winning Kielder Observatory and have an introduction to our universe.
Join expert astronomers as we explore basic astronomy concepts and learn about the night sky at Kielder. Hear a talk in our warm room next to our log burning stove and see some incredible images from some of Mankind’s best telescopes. We will guide you through a journey of discovery and explain how science has developed an understanding of the processes the universe has undergone to get us to our location in time and space!
After the talk we will have a tour of the facility learning about the telescopes and how they work, then we will open up the observatories to look through the telescopes at some of the truly inspiring objects that inhabit our cosmos...galaxies, nebulae, the planets and the moon.
Wrap up warm for a special and mind-bending night!!
