Kielder Observatory - Family Astronomy

Why not bring the whole family along to the Kielder Observatory for a crash course in stargazing? we will use stunning visualisations to teach the family about how our universe works, from spotting constellations to the universe itself... this night has it all. Delivered by the famed Observatory Team with bags of knowledge and enthusiasm to entertain all ages. If you've been studying Space at school, you can ask us lots of questions!

After the talk, we will have a tour of the whole facility, and then we will head outside to enjoy some constellation-spotting with our powerful laser pens which shine right to the stars! Learn how to use the large aperture telescopes and even operate them for yourself, to look at galaxies, star clusters, nebulae and more....

When you need a break, relax in warmth and comfort next to our log burning fire with a hot drink and sample our hospitality that has resulted in the Observatory being the Number 1 Visitor Attraction in Northumberland.
