Grab the opportunity to go wildlife watching with expert guides in England's last great wilderness as part of the 'Wild about Kielder' season. Throughout Spring, a number of events will give a unique chance to view Northumberland's wildlife in its natural habitat. Kielder Castle is home to colonies of pipestrelle and brown long-eared bats who breed and hibernate in the roof spaces. Join licensed bat workers on an evening walk around the castle grounds to see and hear (through ultrasound detectors) these flying mammals emerge to feed on flying insects. Bring torch, warm clothing and insect repellant.
