Experience the night sky in all it's splendour in one of the darkest corners of England. If the skies are clear, you will get to enjoy the quite breathtaking sight of the Milky Way and other distant galaxies through high powered telescopes of experts from Kielder Observatory Astronomical Society and Sunderland Astronomical Society.
Road Directions
From Newcastle or Carlisle, follow the A69 to Hexham then follow the B6320 to Bellingham (brown-signed Kielder Water & Forest) and take the C200 to Kielder Water & Forest Park.
From Jedburgh/Edinburgh take the A68 south to Otterburn, then the B6320 to Bellingham and follow the brown signs to Kielder Water & Forest Park along the C200.
Kielder Castle (Leaplish, Calvert Trust etc.) is situated within Kielder Village and sign-posted from the C200.
Please remember to fill up your tank before you begin your journey as there are no petrol stations in the immediate Kielder Water & Forest Park area.
