Forest View is set in the hamlet of Byrness on the edge of Kielder Forest and Northumberland National Park. An ideal stopover on the A68 England to Scotland route. The Pennine Way runs just a few hundred yards from the hostel. The building has just undergone a major refurbishment with new beds, curtains and carpets. The central heating is supplied by an eco-friendly wood pellet boiler and the hot water by solar panels. The log burning stoves in the quiet room and dining room keep the hostel cosy all year round. The beds are arranged in 2, 3 and 4 bedded rooms and bed linen is supplied. There are 3 bathrooms. Secure storage is provided for up to 10 bikes. There is a large selection of bottled beers and wines, meals can be provided (Breakfast available at £4.00 per person) or guests can use the well-equipped self-catering kitchen.
Forest View is just off the A68, 4 miles from the Scottish Border, 16 miles south of Jedburgh and 10 miles north of Otterburn.
